what is the permit you have to get for those super short shotguns im seeing online and what kind of hell do you have to go through to get one? just wondering it really caught my attention on the pic threads and it looks pretty cool.

It's a $200 NFA tax stamp if it has buttstock (Short Barrel Shotgun - SBS) or a $5 NFA tax stamp if it has a pistol grip only as it left the factory in a standard bbl. length and has never had a stock put on it (Any Other Weapon - AOW). The paper work and background check process is the same for either. These are Class III items that you'll need to go through a Class III dealer to get. A google search for such dealers in your state in will let you know who to contact. I know a few folks who have Class III items (mostly suppressors) and from their comments the paper work isn't that hard; it's just a little tedious. Contact a Class III dealer in your area and they can explain the ins and outs.
