Does anyone know of a maker for speedloaders that will mork with a S&W Model 28? It holds six rounds and I can't find any place online or the local gun shops that have them. THanks

HKS makes them for the Model 27 which will fit your gun. The model # is HK27A. Try www.natchezss.com. Hope this helps.

I'm trying to change over from HKS to Safariland ..... Run a search on that name .. and I find the Comp 1 is ideal for me .. it has a good hold on the rounds but releases IMO better than HKS.

Again, one suitable for M27 will also suit M28 of course.

I have a couple of HKS speedloaders for my Model 28. I got them from MidwayUSA, IIRC.

I have 8 HKS 27-A and 8 of the older 27-M Speedloaders for my Model 28. I also have 2 Safarilands.

For me the HKS are just as fast as the Safariland. I have found the big knob on the HKS makes them easier to grab out of a pouch or pocket and easier to retain control over with wet or oily hands. Also since Safariland doesn't make a loader for a 6-shot .41 magnum or a 5-shot .44 special that using the HKS for all of my revolvers keeps the practicing consistant.
HKS for the 27/28 are easy to find on eBay at a good price.

Plus the slight jiggle factor of the HKS makes it easier to use them with wadcutter ammo.

    Just my tuppence, YMMV.

    Ron,

I don't carry my Model 28. For me, it's too big. However, my Model 28 is my bedside gun and two full speedloaders sit in the lockbox along with the gun.
