I'm just curious since I don't really have a huge basis for comparison...do Speer's flat base HP bullets have abnormally large openings? I bought a box of 6mm 75gr HPs to load up this weekend and try my hand with my 243 Win and I was looking at the bullets and the openings just seem HUGE. Is this so they can keep the shank portion longer to stabilize the bullets better? The only HP rifle bullets I have really seen are 223 and Wolf's 7.62x39 so I really don't have a huge frame of reference, like I said. How are these accuracy-wise? Does that big of an opening cause any problems? Thanks for any ideas.
