Sporting purpose and hunting with EBRs

You could make the same poster with an armed black man ("Black Man with a Gun", paging Kenn) and it would have the same impact.

My guess is that then they would say..."Look, he's associating minorities with wanting to own weapons and being violent".

It is good to reason with these people and try to make them see the light but eventually you need to realize they are hopeless.

EBR=evil black rifle...gunnies use it to "make fun" of themselves and our affinity for all things tacticool

start using UGLY models for our 2A message

Extremely well done, Oleg & considering the title above, I could have a new career!

edited as the offending comment was both removed and apologized for. Thank you.

Okay, now, in Georgia, we have the same 5rd maximum magazine capicity for semi-autos and pumps. So in Georgia, not only do we have to have a 5rd magazine in the AR (and Mini-14) to deer hunt with it, we also have to have a 5rd clip to hunt with the M1 Garand. And I'm not so sure the law will recognize the 5rd en bloc. So effectively, there is a whole class of rifles which, according to the antis, have no sporting purpose because not only can you only shoot competitive matches with it, you also cannot hunt with it. And if the Democrats have their way, the M1 will be on the same banned list as the AR-15.

I guess your EBR's can be joined by my EWSPR (Evil Walnut-Stocked Parkerized Rifle).

Excellent poster, Oleg.

Last November I took my Armalite AR-10 in .308 cal deer hunting. Loaded up a 20 round magazine and hunted deer (no mag capacity restrictions here in Wisconsin) even though I am really big into the one shot kill approach for deer hunting.

I shot the largest buck I have ever killed with it and I took lots of photos of me, the deer, and the rifle with that big 20 round mag in place.

Why? Because I can, because I love my AR-10, and because I am tired of hearing people complain that my EBRs have no use whatsoever but to kill humans. They do pretty good on deer too.

During the recent controversey involving Jim Zumbo's stupid comments about EBRs, I sent him one of my hunting photos showing my deer and prominently displaying my AR-10.

Rape is not about sex. It is about power and domination. And that last comment is reprehensible and not fit for the High Road.
Springmom, I apologize if you were offended by the post and picture, and to any others who took offense.

It most certainly was NOT my intent to infer that rape is about sex, but that it IS about power and is a cruel and terrible thing for any person to endure, regardless of gender or physical appearance. I did not consider any other element when I thought of the picture and caption.

I see the post has been removed, and if I post something of that nature in the future, I will certainly try to see if it can be considered in poor taste by other people with a different viewpoint than mine.

Again, my apologies.

Oleg -- You make a lot of great posters, I love them all, but this one is a true classic.

How 'bout the same sort of picture with a bunch of different folks? I hate to cowtow to the hate-mongers in your link, but showing a bunch of different sizes, ages, shapes and colors of people actually proud of their ARs - describing what they use them for - would be a great campaign.

Same aspect ratio, same lighting, same font, roughly the same number of words....different people, different ARs.

Yoooost an odea. (Uh..I mean "just an idea").

EBR originally or historically first = enhanced battle rifle used to describe the modified M-14 used by U.S. Navy Seals.

Oleg,

Women in TN hunt with ARs (at least 2 of them I know).

Gwen went deer hunting last season with a .30 cal AR.

Her hunting partner Ginger used a 5.56 AR.

Why ARs?

Because they were both very familiar with them and knew exactly what they could hit with their rifles at what range.

Ginger never even saw any deer. Gwen saw several, but wouldn't take the shot because they were outside her 110% confidence range.

This year they expect to bring home the venison.
