Sportsmans Warehouse - Portland, OR

FWIW,

Keiths also has a sign on the door stating "no loaded firearms except for onduty law enforcement", or to that effect anyways. So they are really no better than Sportsmans Warehouse.

I have been to Keiths a couple times, and the customer service can be really bad, or really good. Because they were rude to me once, I purchased 3 of the 4 firearms at GunBroker in Tigard, since they are much friendlier, but their selection is pretty limited. They are usually a lot less crowded as well, but have fewer staff.

The last firearm I purchased, I called around and found out that Keith's was $30-40 less for the XD compact that I wanted, and they actually stocked it, so I gave them the business, and they treated me pretty nicely.

On one hand I want to support the local store, that has good customer service and allows CCW, but on the other hand, I needed to get my hands on one to decide if I liked it or not, and some other stores just don't have the inventory.

By loaded do you think they meen a gun with just ammo in a clip in the gun.Or does it meen a gun with one loaded in the pipe?

Usually it means loaded if the magazine is loaded, and inserted into the firearm, whether or not the round is chambered. Could be worse, in California, it could be considered loaded if the magazine was loaded, and not in the firearm.

The worst place to buy a gun in Portland is the Gunroom. over priced and rude.

The Gun Broker and Northwest Armory are both great places with nice people.

The older guy at the gun counter at SW was very nice, let me try on a Bianchi Belt slide and even lent me the Demo Ruger P90 to try in it.

Didn't like the rest of the operation and there prices are no better than most in the area. There selection in a lot of areas is awful.

I almost forgot about the Gun Room, If you ever wanted to be totally insulted and pay $300+ over MSRP go to the gunroom!!!

Keiths can kiss my ___ I drove there from Hillsboro with cash in hand ready to buy my XD9, and pretty much they could care less if I bought it or not. Hell I dont think they even made eye contact. I was so angry that I ended up giving them my money.

Gunbroker in Tigard has been good to me. I will go there until I get my FFL.

Shops like Gun Room and Keiths can really be a turn off to new gunowners and give us a bad name in general. They are the reason I started my own business.
