Anyone have any experience with the new Springfield M1 rifles, or the Lithgow receivers they use? Or the Entreprise Arms receivers?

Those seem to be the only people making new M1 receivers, but the only mention I can find is Fulton Armory tested a Lithgow a while back and did NOT approve of it.

There are threads on other boards that go for pages and pages on this subject. At times the discussion is quite heated.
The main difference is that the 'real' M1s have a forged reciever and the commercial ones are cast. The functioning problems the commercially made M1s have is related to the use of worn USGI parts.
And, for now, they are much more costly.

Fulton is in the M1 bubbaing business. I believe SA Inc is using Brazilian made receivers. Save yourself the grief and go to the CMP.
