Springfield Model 18C-- .410 bolt action....

    It belonged to my grandpa, he died when i was a kid but my mom had it and gave it to me the other day. anyone know anything about it? Couldn't find much on the 'net...

    The only thing I can tell for sure is they were built by Savage Arms.............

    Yeah, it says Springfield/Savage Arms. Another thing is the clip from Numrich (gunpartscorp.com) that supposedly fits the 18 C and other models does NOT fit this gun.

    No a 12ga. mag. would not work, but the thing with the model 18`s was alot of the parts would interchange like you could have a 18c barrel on a 18 action, but the mags don`t interchange.

    They sent a .410 mag, but the shells wouldn't load into the chamber right. They'd hang up in the magazine .... maybe the spring was weak?

    i'll get some pics later on this afternoon..

    They hang up in the magazine, Where ? They are a rimed round, they have to be loaded like a .303..............
