Springfield Problems

Hello everyone, i desperately need your help! Ok, i just picked up my springfield armory 1911 GI .45. The problem is that when i fire a round, about 2 out of 7 times the shell will fail to fully eject and gets caught in the slide. Im pretty sure thats stovepiping? Do i need to just break it in or what i only fired 150 rounds so far, but shouldnt it work fine out of the box? I tried 5 different mags, as well as 2 brands of ammunition and 3 different shooters. All the same problems. If anyone can help i would immencely appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

GI Springfield

Feel sluggish or sorta sticky when hand-cycling it? The GIs are a little like that until they've gotten the rails smoothed up. It's mostly the parkerizing
that does it, and it'll wear pretty quickly. Use oil...plenty of it...in the rails. Hand-cycle the gun until it feels smooth and try again. If it's still got problems, watch the ejection pattern. Erratic or weak? Extractor. Maybe not enough tension.

Well ill be sure to oil it up, thats what the guy said from where i bought it. It seems pretty smooth though. Im hopefully going shooting saturday so ill let you know how it goes. Thanks for the help guys.

I had problems like this all the time with my old guns P89 and .380 Pocketlite. I asked the range marshal his thoughts and he looked at the guns and said they were dry. He oiled them up and no more issues.
