I have a Springfield Ultra Compact V10 in .45acp. I have had the gun for several years and I like it. It functions reliably and is a good belt carry gun. The one thing I don't like is the ported barrel. The muzzle blast is really bad and it is impossible to see after the first shot in low light or at night.
Any ideas/recommendations for a source for a replacement barrel? Springfield has not been helpful in this regard, so I want to find other sources. Also, since this is a cone shaped barrel, would fitting it be a DIY project, or would it require a gunsmith.
Or does anyone know of a specific person at Springfield that I could call or email regarding a replacement barrel? I have emailed their C/S dept. twice and have not gotten a response.
