Springfield XD .45 or Sig P220

SIG = BMW OK, I agree in a sense. Send it back to the dealer every three hundred rounds for a required service and pay $400 for the lube and oil change. Been there got one, BMW, not SIG. Will NEVER have another. Gee, that sounds like the former SIG owner.

I've got a 4" XD45 that is absolutely reliable with decent ammo, is easy and fast to clean when I get around to it, hasn't rusted or shown any finish wear in a couple of years of packing it, hits where it's aimed, I find myself shooting it while my Glock 21 stays in its tupperware box in the safe. The XD just feels much better, shoots (for me) more accurately and is faster on double and triple taps. Is it my favorite? No, that goes to my all steel ten millimeter pistols from Italy. Is it easier to clean than my PT145 carry gun? No, about the same. It is my HD pistol with a 90lumen light under the barrel and a full load of 185gr Barnes solid copper hollow points over a max charge of Power Pistol.

Choice between SIG and XD for me is easy I'll probably never own another SIG or H&K pistol. I do like Styer and FN and may pick up a couple of them to play with.

Back to the OP, my suggestion is to go with the XD. The design is proven, the quality is good and the after sale support is outstanding.
