springfield xd 9 4inch or Ruger SR9

I am down to 2 guns but still don't know what to buy.No range has the SR9 to rent.I know the xd has a lifetime warrenty I don't know about ruger.I know other ruger pistols even after normal wear and tear there are about 5 things you must send them back to ruger to replace,barrel,extracter and a few others this could get expensive down the road.I plan on shooting about 1000 rounds a year don't know what the life expectancy is of either gun.One big plus for me on the ruger is the fully adjustale sights.The ruger about 60 bucks cheaper.Those are just a few things.I want a gun that will last,not jam because this will be a home defence and maybe a carry gun in the winter.

I own 6 Rugers handguns and have never had to send one back to the factory to replace a worn-out part. In fact none have ever gone back to the factory at all. Rugers have long had a reputation for long-term, trouble free operation, so I am not sure where you heard they commonly wear out and have to be sent in for repair.

You want a auto that will last, "...will last,not jam because this will be a home defense and maybe a carry gun..." I think the SR9 will fill that bill very nicely.

I did not say they wear out I said IF they do after mormal wear and tear,I don't know how long that would be.I was looking thru an online manual of rugers for the p95 and it listed a few parts with an astrics by it which said the gun must be shipped back to ruger for repair of those items.I also have a few ruger guns 2 pistols (revolvers)and 1 rifle.I am just not to sure about there auto's.

ruger has a great customer service and they are compared to sa as to how great they take care of customers, and get your warranty work done and returned. they are both great companies, and they are both g2g in my book.

by the ruger pays shipping both to and fro for warranty work.
