Wow. So I finally decided I’d like a Springfield XD Sub-Compact in .40S&W. Bi-Tone. However no one sees to have these things in stock! Every online store is backordered on them, and my local stores don’t seem to carry the bi-tone.

My one buddy who is a gun shop owner said that even his supplier is backed up on these. Orders are being filled slowly. Is there some sort of run on these things? :what:

My local store hasn't had a bi-tone in in ages. ALthough that's fine for me, as I only like the black, but maybe they're going like hotcakes.

I tried to buy a sub-compact 9mm XD in bi-tone but the local shops were out here (SLC UT) as well. I ended up getting the all black version.

I had a little bit of a rough start, accuracy wise, with this gun but I'm getting much better with it now. 750 rnds fired so far, 50 federal FMJ, 500 WWB, 200 Remington UMC JHP. No issues.

I have had the same trouble finding a 9mm. I'm just looking now, but want to buy in probably June. I hope I can find one locally by then.

I had the same issue last night, if I wanted the .40 it was Black, or Black. They did have the Bi-tone in the 9mm though.:scrutiny:

Check gunbroker.com. I was on yesterday (?) looking at the XD Subcompacts and I saw a few bi-tones in there. I can't say for sure which caliber they were, but I think they were subcompacts. I hope I'm right! Couldn't hurt to check it out. :)

There's one at the Cabela's store in Rogers, MN. You could see of they would ship. I was just there yesterday.

I only buy the Bi-Tone also, unfortunatly for us, to many people like the ones that are baby s**t brown or green, go figure. The Bi-Tone are always released 6 to 8 months after the other colors on new models. We must be the only people that like the silver/black combo.

Ah well. Looks like I'll have to wait until one shows up (at a decent price). Found one at Gander Mountain in bi-tone, asking $550. $50 too much I think. OK OK! Call me cheap - I'm a college student! :D That's 10%!

I like the bi-tone color, but also for rust prevention and ease of maintenance. I hate it when bluing wears off :fire: Although I’ve heard the XDs new finish is much better than their old finish.

I've had my bi-tone XD40sc for almost a year now. At the time there was no wait. She was right there under glass waiting for me. :D I'm glad I got it when I did. Sorry guys its not for sale.

I, too, was looking for a bi-tone XD-9sc a year ago. The only one I found was at Gander Mtn and those Nazis marked their prices up really high...like $50-60 more than Sportsman's Warehouse. Also, as if their asking price wasn't already really high, that was for the gun only! If you wanted the "package" that was SUPPOSED to come WITH the gun already, well, you had to pay another $25-30 or so.

I passed on them and went to Sportsman's and got my 9sc for about $450ish. Oh, btw, the finish on my XD is holding up pretty well to carry! The finish is only slightly worn on the sharper edges on the front of the slide. Everywhere else is staying in decent shape, although there are a few small marks from my stupid self (non-carry marks).

I just checked my receipt. In May of last year I paid $489. The "package" that I got with it was only the plastic case, 1 short mag and 1 extended mag. He must have been trying to unload it.

Doesn't the new "package" come with a better case and cheap holster thats only good for screwing to the bedside nightstand or mounting somewhere inside the car?

I just bought a 9mm bi-tone subcompact (the same package that p2555016zr got) last Saturday for $470 out the door. Apparently, in my area the larger models sell better. My dealer had three of the subcompacts and just wanted to move one.

The later package deals also have the speed loader for magazines. I bought it separately but it was worth it.
