What do you all think about the XD40 in Sub compact for concealed carry? I'm thinking about buying one...

Works fairly well, have a few friends that carry them daily with little or no complaints.

I just picked one up used today (looked used very little) for 359.. I'll take it out on Friday and report back :)

I like the XD40. I carry the sub compact regularly in a Don Hume 721 OT holster. It conceals easily, especially with the 9 round magazine.

I also have two more XD40s, the service model and the tactical. The sub compact's accuracy out to 25 yards is about the same as the service model, for me anyway. I've put several hundred rounds, mostly reloads, through the sub compact with no feed problems of any kind.

Of the XD40s, the sub compact would be the one I'd buy if I could have only one.

I recently picked up the XD45 too. Trust me, you want one. :D

I don't have a .40 but i have the XD SC in 9mm and it conceals very nicely for me in a crossbreed supertuck. Not a particularly good marksman (i'm working on it) but it's "combat accurate" in my hands at 15 yards.

i carry my xd40sc daily in a CTAC holster, and i love it.
i can conceal it under a t-shirt
accuracy is better than i expected from such a short barrel
it doesnt feel bulky or heavy to me on my hip
i have about 600 rounds of reloads and wwb through it without a single issue

i have the Pearce pinky extension on my 9rd magazines, i must say, that made a world of difference in comfort and shootability for me... and with the ctac holster canted fully forward it doesnt really print any more than it did without it

I picked up an XD-40 SC about a month ago. Have put about 200 rounds through it with no problems. I will be carrying this as soon as I get a holster for it (probably a supertuck). My current carry gun is a G-23, the XD grip and grip angle fits me much better.

i own one and i love it, as a matter of fact i like it better than my service model, i just got a set of xs 24/7 night sighs put on it and that is gonna make a nearly perfect ccw perfect for sure, especially for me anyway. i have over 2k rds through mine never a single hitch. i carry it daily with a iwb and i also have a hume leather belt holster open top type. it is very comfortable and great to wear all day if need be. i am very happy with it. i bought mine new with the package deal, holster mag holder, loading tool, 2 12rd mags and a 9rd mag for $369 + tax. i suggest that you get a grip extenstion for the 9rd mag you will need it and it will make shooting with the smaller mag much more comfortable.

+1 on the XD .40 subcompact. I have a .40 service and the 9 SC.

They just finally came out with a 9mm conversion barrel for the SC. i wish they'd done that 2 yrs ago. i ended up getting the 9 SC b/c i already had the .40, wanted an SC, and no such conversion existed.

If i could do it all over again, i'd get a .40 SC and the 9mm conversion barrel for it.

Great gun, go for it!

I've had my XD .40 SC since May of 2005. I've put more than 500 rounds through it without a single malfunction (including the infamous slide lock). Here are some photos.

In case ya didn't know, I'm a Tennessee Vol fan? ;)

Im my search for a left hand friendly concealed carry weapon all I can say is thumbs up for the XD40. I really like mine, I've had it for over two years now with no issues at all and it's more accurate than I expected. I recently bought a 9mm conversion barrel for it just to shoot something a little different once in a while.

It was never bad to shoot but the pinky pearce grip extension on the 9rd mag made a nice gun into a very nice gun for me. Great fire power in a concealable package.

Took mine out yesterday for the 1st time... put 150 rds of Georgia arms reloads through it... flawless function. Accuracy was much better than expected.. I think it'll be a keeper

There is a used one at a gun shop near me with the XML light for $619. I'm tempted to pick it up, but that's more than there are new I have seen.

I used to love to carry mine in a Crossbreed Supertuck. Got out of the 40 business, now i carry an XD9SC in the same holster.

How is the recoil on the subcompact .40? Please put it in terms of how much more more felt recoil there is compared to the subcompact 9mm. What do you guys think? Thanks

Great guns. A bit thick for carry. My 3" 1911 is thinner and smaller all around I love my XD SC, for a car gun and plinker.
