I was lucky enough to get my hands on a new XDs. I took a few photos For those of you wondering how the XDs compares in size to some other popular concealed carry designs. I think the bottom line is that the XDs is a great little gun - but if you are looking for something that is going to magically melt away and be virtually invisible I don't think this is it. As you can see in my pictures the practical difference in width between the XDs and a compact 1911 (IMO) is pretty minimal (thought the XDs is quite a bit lighter). With that said I still think it's going to be a great (and popular) concealed carry weapon that offers a nice balance of conceal-ability, shoot-ability, and caliber. I am on the hunt now for a good IWB holster for it so if anyone has any recommendations please let me know. I hope this helps anyone out there who is interested in the XDs but hasn't been able to actually put their hands on one in person.

Surprisingly similar to the G19 until you look at tne width. What kind of knife is that?

You bet. Glad it helps. I did a little review for fun oat www.operationswift.com

Bottom line I really like this gun. I was able to shoot it today (just 100 rounds) but it was flawless - zero malfunctions and pretty accurate. I definitely see myself carrying this gun often.

Hope they make a M&P Shield in 45 so I can stop liking the XDS so much.

    Watch your lane.
