Often times, bad news is the only news that travels, so when folks do right or go above and beyond reasonable expectations, I like to spread it. (Never been one to poor mouth others even it is deserved) About 10 days ago, I sent Spyderco my Endura 4 bc it had minor blade play issues, and an unusual "clicking" sound in the locking mechanism when pressure was applied to the opened and locked blade. I contacted Spyderco this morning to give them a physical shipping address (i gave them a po box) and they informed me that they are replacing my Endura with a new one. That's what a warranty is for right? That's what a company is supposed to do, so why am I giving them a thumbs up for correcting what they should have done right to begin with? I guess because I have had good experiences with their products, now their service dept., and it's nice to see a company stand behind their product. Not my first Spyderco, and it won't be my last...... by a long shot. Now I'm off to order my Sharpmaker! Ya'll take care.
Thanks for the update. Sal and co get high marks for CS in my book. They really pay attention to the end-user, unlike some companies that seem to think customer are privileged to be able to buy their products! I had a minor issue with one- of maybe 20 or so Spydercos I've bought- and the repair was quick, what was done was politely detailed, and my knife was promptly returned.
Thanks for posting that md7, I have been in the market for a new knife for a few months and I may have to take a closer look at spyderco.
newb, They are worth consideration imho. I have several of their products and this is the only issue that I have had. I would not consider this typical of their products at all. On the whole, I have been well pleased with the Spydercos I have had, have, and would recommend them to anyone really.
