Yes- Had me one and it was a 7” from the 80s

Awesome- would be my choice for a semi.

Yet I’m a revolver man, Traded it for a Old 29-2

I sometimes use my T/C Contender with 10" barrel and 2-6X scope on squirrels out to 50 yards, but i prefer to use my .32 caliber Flintlock rifle.

Would a 2 MOA red dot be too small?

Like the hooded front sight if only aesthetically…was that an add on or did that come on it?

A Ruger MK II , stainless steel , 5" heavy barrel , Millet SP-1 red dot sight and target trigger job by Clark Custom Guns ... Clark Custom mounted a Weaver Rail and the Millet SP-1 red dot sight while they had it .
For an old guy ...me ... the red dot sight and sweet trigger job put these old eyes back to actually hitting targets again ... Got aging eyes ??? Try a red dot sight ...they work like a charm .

I've never used a 2 but I bet it would be fine, particularly for the purposes of hunting small targets requiring precise shot placement. I believe all I could find when I was researching the Venom was either 3 or 6.

The Swampfox Kingslayer works fine for me. I have been very happy with al of the red dots and rifle scoped I have purchased from Swampfox.

On the contrary, I am concerned about it all, thank you for pointing out what I forgot the added weight and balance with an optic. I think I assumed it would be difficult to get a salesman to balance a scope/dot for me to an make a adequate judgement and the weight balance was just going to be a learning curve I would have to accept. Any input I should consider when handling the pistol (to keep in my mind), before the purchase…Ie….Know the pistol will want to drop backwards or tilt fwd on the POA. Could you give me a little insight of what to expect beforehand so I can compensate in my mind when handling them? Or is all that negligible?

Darn......... This thread is up to 45 posts and still no pistol & squirrel pictures. I'm disappointed that I wasn't able to get one with the Single Six while changing SD cards on trail cams although squirrel season runs until the end of February. Missed a couple but I blamed it on my lack of practice with that gun. Trying to remedy that now and perhaps I can redeem myself with one before the season closes. Other than missing a couple squirrels the only other shots I took were shots of the Ruger on a trail cam. I have dozens of those here on the computer... IMG_3795.JPG .... IMG_3527.JPG .... So there's my squirrel pistol. I want some pix of it with a squirrel !

So what I have gotten from the fine members in this community is: Handle different guns, fit the hand comfortably. 5.5, 6, 7 /4 in barrels will not make or break the choices. Scopes seem to be a personal choice..I been reading much on red dots even the smallest of them and I think my lack of use and knowledge is driving me to the traditional and trusty reticle crosshair style. I have 3 manf. Guns I am wanting to try….Rugar Mark4 Browning Buckmark and lastly and in last place will be the SW revolver…just not keen with revolver and scopes not sure I like the combination….

With that all now said (I will post updates on my progression and choice) and without starting a new thread, may I ask for a link or at least specific model name/number to the traditional scope (ie. crosshair style) for a pistol? Seems googling this in itself brought up eye relief needed. Since the scope is further away than a rifle I am puzzled. I am 5’10 in. Just saying this to give reference to my arm length and am thinking I would have a light bend in my trigger hand elbow instead of straight out… Thank you everyone for vast input, I am absorbing it all and filing it to find the perfect mate for my forever and last gun.
