Starting to see sales on reloading supplies...this is a great sign!

I like it when I keep getting emails from major online sellers talking about sales on primers/powder.

I was just over at large online retailer (midsouth) and I'm seeing primers in the $65-75/case range. I'm sure few people are buying right now...and this is thankfully driving down prices.

It's been a long ride, fellas...I'd say reloading supplies really spiked fall of 2020...and here we are spring 2025, 4.5 years later...but it looks like relief is on the way, finally.

From your keyboard to God's ears, I hope. I recently was able to buy primers for significantly less than I have been. Powder has been hit-or-miss, with some of it still outrageous (or completely unavailable, Alliant...) but some 8-pound kegs now coming down out of the stratosphere.

At the moment, though, I'm quite worried about antimony. America no longer has any antimony production, and the majority of the stuff comes from China - which just banned export to America. Lead shot may soon become outrageously expensive...

I actually saw Winchester #41 Arsenal primers on sale for $50/1000 last week, and factory 5.56mm is down to nearly .40/rd. I wouldn't say the Good Times are here again, but... to pharaphrase... The Good as it's Going to Get Times are, indeed, here.

Like .38SPC, I am concerned about some issues caused by the current tariff war, and our reliance on foreign sourcing of some materials... that will likely iron itself out over time, but the question is... how much time?

I'm running low on BTHP 30's.
I found 250 bullet bags at Midsouth Shooters yesterday for $95.21 tax title out the door.
They must buy them by the barrel and re-bag them.

I agree, I think things are slowly returning to normal. I don't espect to ever see pre pandemic prices again but its good to see components available again.

Yeah, we're not seeing $30/1000 primers again...just like we never saw $18/1000 primers after the last panic.

I've "adjusted" my thinking that I'll accept $50/1000 on small pistol...I'd rather see $40-45, but I won't hold my breath. For something like large pistol/rifle, that I run, but not in amounts like I do small pistol, $60/1000 and I'll bite.

Before all of this silliness, I bought a 5K case of Win SP for $150 to my door...I'd trip over myself trying to buy that now.

If I see a $250 for a 5K case, free/cheap shipping and waved hazmat, I'll definitely bite. I'd love to be able to go run 250 rounds of 38 special shooting steel, and not feel guilty about it. It's been too long.

Don’t forget the 25% rebate Winchester was running on primers the Summer of 2019. The glory days, LOL

Before Covid I paid ~3.5 cents for CCI primers. Had enough to carry me through the covid period and shoot as much as I wanted to. Even knowing that I could not find primers at any price for at least two years I carried on as normal.

Afterwards I paid more than 11 Cents after, shipping, hazmat and tax. Seems like it is now about 9 cents after S, H, and tax. Still a crazy price in my opinion. And no one can convince me it will ever be 3 cents again.

I look at it like this: In 1978 I bought a 2-door 1972 Chevelle Malibu with a 307cid V8 and automatic transmission for $500 plus tax and title. It cost me $65 every 6 months for insurance - bare minimum required by law in Florida - and the only “extra” that it had was the AM radio. But, it was dent free and the interior was clean. Everything worked and it only had 40K miles on the clock.

If I tried to buy the same car today it would cost closer to $20,000 in far less condition. If I could even find one with the 307 V8.

Moral of the story is, everything costs more because money is worth less.
