I would like to invite all of you who carry a snub nosed revolver (under 3".) in .40 caliber or larger to post pics and describe how you carry.

Mine is a Taurus Titanium 44spl right now I carry it in a generic k frame pancake holster at 2 o'clock. I have a custom made to fit the gun bell charter oak holster coming. My load of choice is the ubiquitous 200g speer GD.

One thing I struggle with though is carrying reloads on hks speedloaders in a unobtrusive manner.

I can't lay claim to building this custom but I did buy it and replace the rubber, over-sized stocks with these Pointer stocks from the '50s, along with the old Pachmayr grip adapter.

It's a 45 ACP 1917 S&W, made in 1918. Barrel's been shortened to just under 3-1/2", the front sight and ramp were re-soldered in place, then the whole thing was hard chromed.

What load is that pictured MACH4?

Handloads. 210 gr. Remington SJHP over 8.5 grs. Unique and CCI 350 mag primers. They're pretty stout; 985 FPS avg. from the 2.5" Bulldog, with recoil to match. In the 20 ounce Charter, it thumps my hand about the same as a standard .44 mag load in my 629.

Nice! I may have to see how that rocks my Taurus sometime.

Oh, I've got this one! It's a .45 ACP; .45 Colt/Schofield; and a .410 shotgun shell 'snubby'!

I have a holster!

Admittedly, with the .500 Magnum Hogues on it, it isn't a great CCW... even though it's just under 30 oz empty.

Besides the S&W Governor, I also have a 2.5" 296 (below - with a Mika pocket holster) and a 3" 696, both 5-shot .44 Specials. They seem kind of boring now.

The first center fire handgun I carried around the farm was a 4" S&W model 57 in 41mag .

I shot at & hit or killed)everything that need it !!!

Wonder where it`s at now ??? I know where I wish it was !!!

Colt Anaconda, .44 mag, Desantis fitted holster with thumb break, Desantis belt, and Uncle Mikes Speed loader pouch with HKS speed loaders.

Strictly woods carry.

Edit: Oops, just notice the 3" mentioned by the OP, sorry, I'll crawl back into my cave now :(

I carry both, and alternate between them and my Model 65. The Model 24 has been carried, but I've relegated it to target duty. The all-steel N frame is a bit heavy for daily carry. The 325NG is a better shooter with the Ahrends Combats, and the stocks don't catch on my vest.

Since others cannot read either "(under 3".)", here is my 3" 696

It fits in the same holster as my 2 1/2" 686. Sorry, no holster pic. Weak side cross draw or strong side with a loose shirt, nothing fancy. They get a small % of the carry duty. I shoot the 696 very well DA, and prefer it.

Here are a couple of revovlers I used to have and or carry.

One of my favorite 1860s, I made this one in the late 90s or early 21st century.

Not for everyday but it was pressed into service on occassion.

This Lew Horton S&W M 29-3, was purchased right at the end of my infatuation with the 44 Magnum, perhaps in 83 or 85, (somewhere around then). I carried it in a Pancake holster and used Magnum rounds in it.

Unfortunately, the 44 Magnum had lost its luster for me and I was transitioning to the 45 long Colt and it's little brother the 45 ACP.

I have one of those and it is in much the same condition as yours. I used to carry it as a companion piece to my Marlin 1894 in .44 Mag..

It has been put in semi-retirement and I shoot mostly LSWC through it now. Outstanding DA trigger, outstanding accuracy. One of the gems of my modest collection.

Lately I have been thinking about converting the M29-3 by reaming the cyliders to 45 long Colt and adding a 4" skinny barrel. HAven't decided yet but it is an option.
