I have LONG been a fan of the PCC's. Loved them long before they became a thing. When I first saw these they sold for around $150. Pre net I thought they had to be junk till someone bought one and we played with it. Could not make it fail. I almost bought one a few times just because they were so damn cheap. Looked so much like those rifles in the original Planet of the apes. Only thing that kept me was the proprietary mags. They are a lot more now but also look a lot nicer. Still one hell of a good deal. The version in 10MM is wicked !!!

I know it sounds crazy as crappy as their pistols are but I believe their carbine has always been fairly well regarded.
I think “crappy” might be an overstatement depending on how you define it. “Less refined” is probably more appropriate. A lot less refined. Generally speaking, they are very reliable and their accuracy really isn’t bad. But again, it’s all in how you define “crappy”.

I had a 995 that did some wierd stuff but the gun was flat out reliable. It shot side to side though and I never could get that figured out and it frustrated me to a point I sold it. I put it in an aftermarket stock that resembled a beretta cx4, and would not mind owning another one. I have considered the 10mm but I just can’t bring myself to do it. One thing for sure though, the 995 was accurate. At any range I shot it the hits were always close to each other. They just moved right to left as they went down range.

I bought a 9 when they came out. Reliable, fairly accurate and I, bigoted as I am, couldn't bring myself to take it to the club for informal matches. I stuck with my WWII Underwood M1. I'm a little red faced. But I won't have, buy, or carry one of the handguns. BLM, ANTIFA, whoever, flame me as bigoted.

Wonderful accomplishment Matt. You sure put in the time and effort. Hopefully I'll see you at either Cactus or Deer Tribe matches. Rio is too far for me to drive and that little hill at South Mountain eliminates my going there.

I'll be running the check-in at this year's Arizona State Championship again and I'll keep an eye on you. I always like watching top shooters at their peak.

I love my HP 4595 & 1095 carbines.
But this is really more an example of how much more important skill is over gear.
My HPs aren’t the most accurate PCC’s I have, but never complained over their reliability or bang for the buck.

You are absolutely correct that the shooter's skill is very important. I liked the article and shared it to show that even an ugly duckling that everyone likes to hate on will perform well in the right hands.
