U.S. THR riflemen,

Do you use steel cased 7.62x39 or 5.45, or 5.56 or 7.62x54R?

THEN PICK IT UP!

I just read on THR some one citing the wonderful advantage of "not having to chase the empties" with the steel stuff since they can't reload it.

I am sure my club is not the only one that has discussed banning steel cased ammo all together because BOZOS don't pick it up so people can trip on it or the maintenance man can play Russian Roulet with steel chunks being launched from his mower.

Same same berdan primed cases of whatever construction, pick them up!

Sure folks are going to loose some brass, but nothing like finding 60 plus pieces of steel 7.62x39 scattered in a fan from fifteen feet forward of the line and twenty feet to the right and to ten feet to the rear.

If you are using your own private range and wish to pave it with steel cases then go for it, but clubs and public ranges are no place for slobs.

That leaving the steel behind is just the kind of behavior that makes folks that don't own an AR, AK, SKS, Mini or whatever semi and have no use for old military weapons of war not give a damn about protecting our rights to own such.

Me, I love military-ish stuff whether bolt action or go fast, I even use steel cased ammo, but even I think dire thoughts about folks that litter on the range. Imagine having your AKor whatever seized, magnatized, and used to drag across the range to pick up all the steel cases you left behind next time you are shooting the stuff. Hmm and the state legislature is about to meet.....
