I recently bought a Stevens model 620 trench gun. I would like to find out the date it was made along with value and info on the stamps on it. I have pictures that I can send.also this web site is hard to navigate!

Do you have a photo by chance and a serial number.

Proper 620 Trench as well as riot and aerial trainers were all war-production - more or less. Some were taken from existing stocks and modified for war-emergency.

They are fairly rare guns and follow the 520 & 520-30 in design. The whole thing started out as an issue of procuring commercial shotguns in WWI and the development of the *riot* guns into bayonet-wearing *trench guns*.

WWII saw a renewed interest in the concept - most notably in the Pacific Theater.

I was told by previous owner that it was arsenal refit during or after Viet nam.

Cool purchase indeed. I would be mostly inclined not to use it, yet it is awesome for a collection.
Wish I could tell you specific facts about that model STEVENS other than it is a great showpiece.

Yes- that makes sense given the finish and rubber T-slot recoil pad.

Is the *RA* the only thing stamped anywhere on the stock?

It would take a fairly close examination to determine whether it is fully authentic or a *tribute* gun.

Can you see any stamps on the receiver other than the *flaming bomb*, *U.S.* and the factory data?

I don't recall ever seeing a dated bayonet lug but others here may be familiar with that.

The only marking on the stock is RA? THE RECIEVER is marked m on the trigger guard with the serial #43652. Also there is the letter p and flaming bomb on the barrell and US on the reciever.

Also a photo of the Shotgun barrel where the name would be stamped and a photo of the P stamped on the barrel would help.
