I picked up a STEYR SSG 04K in a .308 today at the gun show. How good are they and what do you think of them? I was going to get a Remington 700 until I saw the Tag $3999.99:what: Take a look at what Remington is selling them for.

I picked up a Steyr Pro Hunter with a 20" barrel in .308 at a gunshow about 2 months ago. It is very accurate. I have not shot a group larger than 1" yet. Mine is not ammo sensitive, it seems to shoot various bullet weights well and does well with cheap ammo.

I have the Styer ProHunter in .270. Some folks don't care for the non- traditional looks, but I can tell you it's one fine rifle....Essex

www.cdnninvestments.com has Steyr mags for $39. I ordered some marked for .243 that work perfectly in my .308. Should work in a 7mm-08 as well
