Looks to me like the 'toggle action' is just a little hinged cover on the blowback bolt.

I think I'd like one of these, seems like a lot of fun.

Hello friends and neighbors // The 2010 Standard Catalog of Firearms $350-$100

I don't know where to get one, paid $65 for mine in the late 80's.
I use it to warm up with every time I go to the range. Well over 10,000 rounds and likes federal copper washed the best of the bulk ammo.
Parts are still available but mine has only ever needed the safety retainer ball (I think that is the name) replaced.
Good luck with the search.

"I wonder how a .22 can run the action"

Well, it doesn't run the Parabellum pistol action. The Parabellum pistol is a locked breech, recoil operated pistol; the Stoeger Luger is a straight blowback. The toggle on the latter is not locked and imposes minimal resistance to the blowback action. The same is true of the Erma gun.

It is worth noting that in the 1920's, Stoeger was the authorized importer for the Parabellum pistol; they trademarked the name "Luger" in the U.S., which is why the pistol is called that here even though the rest of the world calls it the Parabellum. Since Stoeger owns the name "Luger", they can sell a pistol and put the name "Luger" on it, but Erma could not put that name on their gun, which actually looks more like the original.

Nice little shooter!

Just picked one up (under $200)! :D Great little shooter - ate all the Fed bulk and Wildcat I could feed it - until the (OEM?) mag fell apart (left the follower in the mag well) ! :uhoh: I put it back together and it seems to work, but - hmmmmm...I noticed another member had the same problem. Guess I'll be shopping for some new mags too. Anyone know if this is a common problem for this gun?

Stoeger Luger

I purchased a Stoeger Luger New in the early 1970's. Was considering a Colt Woodsman or High Standard along with the Stoeger Luger. The Stoeger Luger felt more comfortable fitting my hand. Since the purchase have shot hundreds and hundreds rounds thru it. It has never failed - shoots like a little machine gun. Tried to purchase exta clips thru the years with negative results. My experience is that it is a - Great Little Gun!!!

I am familiar with this piece and am interested in a purchase to replace the Stoeger-Luger I lost in the Cascades way back in 1966.

Any leads will be appreciated.

I have a steel version with 4 inch barrel, clip and original box. I have the the original manual but have to find it. so no gaurantee. I am willing to sell it at the right price. It is like new. appears to have been fired very little. Some rust on clip. Condition looks like pictures above. Serial number close to 4000 . This is a collectible gun. Make me a resonable offer
