I've been wanting a side by side coach gun for a while now and im pretty much set on a stoeger. My question is: can a side by side like this shoot slugs to? or is this not recommended? I have two other shotguns. One is a mossberg pump and the other is a break action 20 gauge but I have no experience with the side by side. Thanks for any and all advice and help with this.

It'll shoot them OK, if you're worried about them tearing up the gun. Chances are though, the barrels will not put the slugs into the same place. And kick will be emphatic.

You may get good accuracy out of one barrel, good accuracy from the other and the two groups being quite a distance apart.

This is why double rifles are expensive. Regulating the barrels takes time, experience and talent.

Some folks will establish a zero with one barrel and slug and drop a buck load in the other chamber.

HTH....
