Stolen Remington Videos

The ACR looks versatile, but also exactly like my kid's Nerf Recon. It would be hard for me to reconcile that....lol

more like "conveniently stumbled upon" Remington Videos. Wonder who left/dropped that disc.

So on the ACR..where's the forward assist if the charging handle is non-reciprocating. Didn't the early M16 have many issues because of that?!

I took this screen shot from the ACR video....I think this guy has fought in his last battle LOL!

Those should make GECKO45 happy. I guess the video for the Tactical Wheelbarrow is still safely hidden away.

What makes an ACR different form a SCAR?

Nothing, maybe the name?

Whats up with the MSR?...somebody copying the Savage 10 BAS/BATS or what? lol

I bet there are several Remington VP's of days gone by just a rollin' and a floppin' in the grave over that switch barrel system with the Remington name on it!!

Nice big green has put forth so much effort into the design of much needed military weapons...(sarcastic) we really need more military/LE weapons, right...never mind the crap they are churning out in the civi sector...the corner of the market that makes the most money.

Somebody at Remington is thinking straight!

I doubt those were leaked. Someone intentionally obtained a copy of videos from where they shouldn't have been taken... :(

Looks a whole lot like the DTA - SRS without being bullpuped...of course without that, what is the point?

:)

The charging handle is the forward assist. With that knob, you should be able to shove the bolt all the way forward, unlike with the M16...which is why the M16 has a forward assist!

Actually, the forward assist was a command requirement. Being that McNamara fielded the weapon system with the wrong powder, and magazines were built out of light aluminum, its no wonder the early rifles had excessive carbon buildup and misfeeds.

So, somebody yet unnamed came up with the forward assist. All it can do is force the bolt forward and either finish chambering the round or jam it in worse. With the forced change back to cleaner ammo, plus the use of quality magazines, and the proper use of LOTS OF LUBRICATION, AR's don't have the problem, and don't need a forward assist.

The G3 doesn't have a forward assist or bolt handle to force the bolt home. Nobody complains about them. They don't have problems.

If the weapon has a stoppage, the military uses a technique to eject the round first. If letting the bolt chamber a cartridge fails again, of course combat forces the user to attempt to chamber a round for self protection. Somebody must have figured the odds of muscling whatever obstruction was in the way as more successful to get another round down range. BUT - the flip side is just as true, in whatever lesser percentage, the weapon is jammed, and potentially even more so.

From my point of view, it's better to dump the mag and insert a fresh one rather than force a round into the chamber. The act of removing the magazine will allow gravity to dump the obstruction, too. A new mag will have less contamination and a better shot at letting the bolt slam home.

Note that most expensive built precision AR's, and those for hunting, delete the forward assist completely.

Don't take a command climate decision on a combat rifle as your best choice for every circumstance. Stoner didn't put the forward assist on, and we've worked all the way back to what he had in mind to begin with.

A floating bolt head as well. The first thing I thought when I watched was that Savage had a new rifle coming out. If only it had the accutrigger as well it would be impossible to determine who made the thing.

I had great hopes for this. Magpul designs some of the best stuff on the market. However now that Bushmaster and more recently Remington has gotten their hands on it, I am willing to bet it turns out pretty crappy.

Well I have always have like the look of the ACR. I still very much want one and for some it may sound stupid but I really like the looks of the MSR.

first and foremost, the ACR and MSR.....I WANT!!!!!!

second, don't care how the videos were obtained, i still WANT!!!

i've recently taken up long range precision shooting and the MSR is just about what i was looking for when i bought all my stuff. i'm still assembling but given the chance, i would have bought and MSR off the shelf in a heartbeat!

i have a tricked out Bushy M4 wannabe that i would gladly trade for an ACR if given the chance. Dear Remington, bring this stuff to market ASAP! if you pull and HK on us and only offer to mil/police, you've lost my business forever, just like HK. i have and very much like a USP C .40. but i wouldn't buy another HK product until they get more civvy friendly. same for Remmy or any other. and my new rifle is based on a Rem 700!

third: quit lollygaggin' and get this stuff in the stores!!

and that's all i have to say about that....

I like all of them except for the MCS.

i agree with one caveat. having this shotgun in use is beneficial for us because of the wording of both Heller and Parker. a short barreled shotgun would be "in common use" thus negating the "dangerous and unusual" aspect of the Heller ruling. the more companies that make shotties like this the better for us it is.
