I know the systems are good for speed and saving fingers, but do they also help in the long run with wear and tear on those supple mag lips.

I'm wondering this after seeing a YouTube demonstration. It looked to me like the rounds are being fed single file into the mag, avoiding the feed lips entirely.

Comments, Thoughts, Insults?

My initial reaction is to roll my eyes, but I will try to be constructive.

During loading, yes, the feed lips are not contacted, but who in the world wears out feed lips from excessive loading?

My impression of the real benefit of stripper clips is the ease of handling, storage and loading, not the fact that they might save the feed lips on an AR mag-that's stretching it.

Samgotit, I use the striplula on my HK33 mags. I had to perform some Dremel modifications, but it works great. The feed lips on the HK33 mags are a bit closer together than they are on the AR 15 magazines.

These work well, but I can't imagine that they would cause anymore wear on your mag lips than ordinary use.
