I just finished (guess not!) cleaning 3 rifles. They were cleaned after their last range session but noticed when looking at them today they all had copper fouling. I could see streaks at the muzzle end and as far back as I could see. So for the last 2 hrs I've been running Sweets through them every ten min and letting soak and repeat - It has still not removed all the copper fouling! NOW WHAT?

You don't want to remove ALL the fouling. Only strip copper when your accuracy goes south.

Put em' back in the safe.... shoot them again and note what is going on... round count, group, you know... your data book.

But if you must go back to the beginning of life get yourself some JB bore paste, it is abrasive so be very careful you don't ruin your barrel, as a matter of fact, I suggest NOT using JB unless you know what your doing... get an Outers Foul-Out III, this will strip all copper and lead out of your barrel as clean as the day your rifle was made. And will not harm your barrel in any way!

:D

1st make sure all the Sweets is out of your barrel, then give it a shot of WipeOut and set it aside for the rest of the day. In the morning patch out the bore, lightly oil and put the rifle up.
