Stuck, tired, and ticked of my KT P-3at (Day 2 for new user)

Trying to put my new P-3AT back together after a F&B. Read tons of directions all over the web, but still stuck.

After getting stuck on the hammer block I made it passed that and rather smoothly made it to where you put the slide on and sit the assem pin. However it firmly stops about 1/4 inch from coming flush. Nothing seems hung and the slide is 100% assembled right (its just like my Ruger P97). Not sure what else it is but I'm just abut had enough and really need help if I'm going to make it. BTW pretty sure hammer and all is set right as I can dry fire the hammer if I manually cock it. Won't cock via the trigger though.

You made a hammer block?

Why?
I'm guessing that is the root of your problem.
My P32s and P3AT come apart and go back together in <2 minutes.

In the past when I removed a hammer block, I had a lot of trouble getting them back in correctly.

That is where I would look first.

Try Ktog , they are great for helping with problems.

It's generally not recommended to let the hammer drop when the gun is disassembled.

Since he says he can't get it reassembled and yet says he can dryfire it, I'm assuming that he's dryfiring it while it's partially disassembled.

Most manuals recommend against this since the hammer can fall against and damage parts that would normally be shielded when the gun is fully assembled.
 
I think he means he "made it past" the hammer block. However, wacky posts have been the norm around here recently...

I've assembled/disasembled my P3AT a number of times and have never had a problem like what was posted.

Just had me confused is all. ;)
 
If you are still stumped, you may want to call the company. I have had excellent response from them on my one question, and they have a great customer-service reputation.

Wow people are still posting to this. I got past the hammer block that night (though took awhile to replace) and got it reassembled. At the time of the post I had it reassembled but the slide off. For some reason however the hammer would drop back to allow the slide to slide over it. You had to manually depress the slide then you could retract the slide and pop in the assembly pin. Kinda odd plus the hammer still wouldn't reset, you had to manually operate the slide to reset the hammer.

The day after the post I had enough and called Kel-tec support for a little help. Figured I just had something wrong but after about an hour of the phone the two techs I spoke to had me strip the weapon for a step by step break down. Then they said I had it right but still they were stumped. :(

Anyway Kel-tec had me send it to them for a checkup. I was wanting a chrome slide anyways. :D

As far as dry firing the hammer I used a foam pad to brace the impact of the hammer.
