I purchased a Kel-Tec sub 2000 9mm rifle about 4 months ago and finally until recently i had the free time to get out there and have a little fun .All i can say is WOW.This rifle is awsome.I shot during the day and at night time .I was using 9mm+p(9x19mm parabellum) 124gr.I would guess this to be an awsome load for this weapon.The recoil was minimum to hardly nothing at all.There was absolutly no barrel flash.This weapon is light weight and accurate to the point .Has anyone out there ever shot a sub 2k?I was just wondering cause i really havent seen or heard about it to much, and would like to get some input on this product (bad or good).

Just read that Keltec has a folder 223

which caliber beats-out the 9mm pretty badly, for the sort of things that one wants a folding-stock for, I'd say. The Sub2k was grossly over-priced when it first debued, something like $700. In a day of $500 AR-15's, that was a joke.

If someone quoted you that price, they must have really seen you coming, as that is more than 150% of full MSRP.

The original Kel-Tec folding carbine was designated Sub-9, and as it was built with a CNC-machined aluminum receiver, its MSRP was about $700. The current model, the Sub-2000, uses an injection-molded polymer receiver, thus its MSRP is $383.

My .40S&W Sub2000 is an absolute kick in the pants to shoot - dead-nuts accurate out to 100 yds, double-taps and headshots are a piece of cake out to about 30 yds. 29-rd Scherer magazines also work well with my gun.

The new SU-16 also folds for compact storage, but only to 26" - the Sub2000 guns fold to 16". I personally keep mine in a nylon laptop-carrier briefcase, along with 2-3 loaded magazines.

I BOUGHT MY SUB 2K FOR $379.00.WHICH I THOUGHT WAS A GOOD DEAL.ANY WAYS, MY QUESTION IS IM HAVING PROBLEMS FINDING HIGH CAPACITY MAGS FOR THIS 9MM.THEY HAD SOME AT THE DEALER WERE I PURCHASED IT BUT THEY DIDNT LOCK IN .IF YOU KNOW PLEASE PASS ALONG THE INFO.I HAVE TWO 10RD MAGS BUT WANT SOMETHING WITH MORE CAPACITY.

What model mags does your Sub2K take?
I've picked up mags from CDNNINVESTMENTS.com without any problems and you could always check out the forums for people selling them.

BTW, I don't mean to rub it in, but I got my Beretta Sub2k for $279 NIB at a gunshow.

Does anyone know the MSRP of the new .223 model?
Its going to be a hit in California. I just hope it'll work with the existing California department of justice approved super duper extra safety locking devices so we can actually buy one with out owning a California department of justice approved super duper extra safety safe.

Keltec has been out of the office since chrismas ....they are returning Jan 6. The Magazine ad for the new rifle was in the newest issue of Guns & Ammo which I don't think has hit the news-stands yet but people with subscriptions have already received. Keltec is going to be swamped with e-mails and calls this up coming week. I am sure that they will be dealing with customer service issues for awhile to catch up on the back log and dealing with alot of requests for information about the new rifle. I'm interested in what the other new product they intend to unveil in february is going to be. The best place to look for more info would be either the KTOG forums or the KTOG e-mail group. Hopefully we will at least get a quote for the MSRP from them this week. I hope they don't make us wait till February. I have a Sub2K and like it alot. I've seen them at the shows going for 275 to 350 ticket price and gun shops asking up to 400 but will usually back down to the price range I quoted from the gun shows, YMMV. Alot of people have no problem cycling jacketed rounds but are experiencing jams with hollow points. Some guys are correcting that problem by polishing the barrel grind that meets up with the feed ramp. Look to see if you have a metal clip on the ejection port wall. Many of the Subs have been shipped without them and the port wall will wear excessively and begin to cause brass to be deflected back into the gun and cause jams. Contact Keltec if you don't have one and they will send you one for free. I think CCDN has some of the Sub40s for 400. Expect to see the prices on the new SU-16 to be a premium initially due to demand. I'd wait till at least 5000 of them are in circulation before jumping on one to let keltec work out the bugs.

I owned a Sub-9 carbine for years.

It was accurate and as durable as a Glock.

It's a great carbine for the money.

However, a year ago, I caught the AR-15 bug and sold it for a Bushmaster .223 Rem 20" HBAR. If you intend to shoot at 100-300 yards, the Sub-9/Sub2000 can't play.

Or if you want all of the AR-15 toys, red dots, Holosights, lasers, sighting mounting systems, etc., you cannot do that with the Sub2000 or the new but not produced KT .223 carbine.

They play this game of releasing the idea, collecting marketing data and I'll bet you won't actually see any in the stores until the 4th of July. The price point will probably be under $400.

But for a couple hundred more, you can have either an AR-15 in 9mm, 10mm, 40SW, 45 ACP, or the traditional .223 Rem.

But they'd make inexpensive trunk guns
