I'm curious if anyone has tried loading the .50 AE with subsonic loads. Would it be feasible to load a 600+ grain bullet meant for the .50 BMG in the .50 AE case? Obviously the OAL would be a problem for magazine fed guns, but for singles like the TC it might be feasible. Anyone know where to get said information?

    interesting

I'd try Accurate Reloading to start.
I have a feeling that you won't have much room for powder with that giant boat tailed bullet in there.
I think this is what you have in mind:

50 AE uses .500" bullets, 50 BMG uses .510" bullets. Maybe with a little work on a lathe you could make this combination work, but what would you fire it in? I doubt if you could even single load it in a Desert Eagle due to the long cartridge OAL, and it wouldn't work in an FA revolver for the same reason. Maybe an Encore??

The SSK 50 American Eagle is a 650gr BMG bullett (.510) in a 50 action express case. Recoil is not bad with a good brake in the Encore, but it will get your attention with the max load.

    IIRC ...

"Cartridges of the World" has listings for a 50 Whisper

Intriguing round. Lotsa punch due to rather heavy bullet.

Dunno if this will help, but it's a start.
