I'm sure there are at least 248730 threads that read more or less like this one, but here's my version:

I'm looking for suggestions for a compact 9mm that shoots single and double action (exposed hammer). I want it to be something concealable, so thin is good, but not necessarily single stack. I'm also generally into plastic guns, but again, not a must. My initial interest was the Beretta 9000s, but unfortunately they don't make those anymore. Its replacement, the Px4sc, looks good to, but I have a Cx4 in 40, so I'd be nuts not to get the Px4 in 40, too. Oh well. Anyway, any ideas?

Oh, also I'm imagining something sort of sharp looking... more PPK and less Glock. Thanks.

S&w 3913. It has a "bobbed" hammer (sits flush with the slide when uncocked), but you can swap in a 59-series hammer. Very slender and flat, accurate, extremely reliable, smooth trigger pulls, and ambi safeties on all but the LadySmith. Honorable mention: SIG P239.

I do love the rotating lock-up, but it... sort of looks like a butt. I might feel differently if I got my hands on it. I wish the Boberg was going to be offered in sa/da. That would solve all of my problems. Small, sleek, rotating barrel.

I forgot to mention that it needs to be lefty friendly. Everything has an ambi safety, but an ambi or reversible mag release would be good as well. I saw that the Bersa Thunder 9mm fits the bill and even has an ambi slide catch... but it's a Bersa.

(If you haven't caught on yet, I'm rather picky)

How compact?

Plastic
HK P2000 SK
HK USP Compact

Metal
SIG P239
Smith & Wesson 3913
SIG P225
SIG P229
CZ P01
CZ 75 Compact

Alright, swing by and drop it in the mailbox! :D Yeah, the P2000 is definitely on my list. I know someone who has the LEM version and I think wants to get rid of it. Is it possible to convert it to sa/da, or is that like changing a stick to an automatic?

I need to look in to Sig more. Those haven't struck me as particularly lefty-friendly, though. One of these days (or months) I'll get over to the aforementioned Vance's and spend an hour or so looking at some of these. Thanks for the suggestions, everyone!
