the biggest difference would be the cast frame...not to worry, it's changing next year

It was never a problem to begin with and it kept the prices of the DW at that "Wow" factor... Now their going way up because of it and they will lose that.

I love my DW and the cast frame was never a problem Many of today's pistols have a cast frame. With the forge frame, the price increase, changing of the model line up . I have decided I will just save a couple more months and get a Fusion built my way
If this was CZ idea to make all these changes I feel was a bad choice on their part.

IIRC they are making the changes because of customer feedback...i think it was 1911forum

if folks are standing in line to buy them at the old price and there is a shortage of supply due to production capability, the dictates of the free market mandates that they raise their price...at least there is also a increase in quality to go with the increase in price
 
i believe the ed brown parts on the CBOB consist of thumb safety, grip safety, & slide stop.

next year the VBOB (valor bobtail) will cost almost as much as an ed brown kobra karry (the stainless VBOB is $400 cheaper for some reason).

no way i'm paying almost the same price for a 1911 with a couple ed brown parts, when i can get an actual ed brown 1911 for a little more.

DW pricing their 1911's in the "high-end 1911" region is a bold move, and a big mistake.

Although I am not happy about it either, I would say though, that I believe the MSRP and street price will differ considerably, and DW will probably wind up competing in the same niche as Fusion, rather than Ed Brown, Les Baer, Wilson, et al.

I could be wrong though.

right, but the actual street price will only be $100-$200 less than MSRP. still not worth it to me to buy one as i would simply spend a little more on an ed brown.

glock's cost much less than $200 to produce. the most expensive part of production is the barrel.

their profit margin is close to 300%.

that's why they can afford to give their pistols to LE depts for almost free. they did this when they first came out as a marketing scheme-and it worked. once the public saw LE depts adopting glocks like crazy, civilians wanted them too.
