Many scopes come with them now. Vortex is one that includes them with some scopes and I think some Burris scopes include them as well...

Prices on these things go anywhere from $12 for a Mueller to $50+ for a Leupold or Zeiss.. I'd like to get a few more, but refuse to pay the ridiculous prices for a short piece of threaded aluminum. I'm thinking $15-20 is a more realistic price range.

I cannot find the pitch or thread size anywhere for available scopes.

Does anybody out there have a cross reference chart for what ( or whose) sunshades will fit what scopes?

Thanks!

Ive a 50mm sun shade for a vortex scope, never installed that's in need of a good home

Keeping things in perspective, if you're shooting in a paradigm where a sunshade gives you a real advantage, then the cost is inconsequential. If you're a varminter burning barrels with a small case 22CF, you're shooting high enough volume (few hundred rounds in an afternoon) where even low cost cartridges at high volumes = high cost. If you're shooting long range precision where your volume is a bit less, then the cost per shot makes a difference... Either end of that spectrum, a sunshade only costs about as much as one afternoon session...

I have sunshades for a lot of my scopes, and if I need one for a model which doesn't have readily available OEM or after-market options, it's not difficult to fabricate a suitable solution. It's a sunshade, not a fashion accessory - a cardboard roll might not look as good as a factory job, but it works every bit as well.
