So I’m finally going to take the plunge into the world of NFA. I want a suppressor and have narrowed it down to two and would like some help making final decision. I’m initially using it on a 300 BLK and various 5.56 rifles. Eventually a 300 Win Mag

1. Sig Sauer 7.62 SRD QD

Pros: It’s a Sig (I’m obsessed with Sig
products).
Has muzzle devices to attach to
each rifle from 5.56 to 300WM
(you can choose brakes or flash
hiders).
Quick detach to said muzzle devices.

Cons: Price is higher
Only rifle applications

2. Liberty Mystic X

Pros: Lower price
Can also be used on handguns and
rimfires.

Cons: Need attachments for each caliber.
No quick detach muzzle devices

Any other suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance fellow gun lovers.

The QD is a nice option. However, gets $$ to put that on every rifle and sometimes it looks really out of place on the rifle. So, I prefer direct thread.

The direct thread attachments shouldn't be different for each caliber, more like for certain classes of calibers. Yes, will need a few different ones but not one for each caliber.

It is a personal choice and LOTS of options out there now. Really your call.

I’m no expert...my first one ever is in the NFA detention center. I bought the Silencerco Hybrid so that it could go on really anything I shoot. To me, that was a huge plus.

Given your needs I would opt for a good .30 cal can over a do all can like the Mystic X. You'll probably wind up with a rimfire and pistol can later, might as well have cans that are optimized for their main uses.

Light and short are nice in rifle cans, some popular current options for .30 cal cans are: Thunder Beast Arms Ultra 7 (really great guys, located right here in Cheyenne), Energetic Arms Vox S, Dead Air Nomad 30, SiCo Omega and YHM Resonator. All of those are relatively light, with the Resonator being the heaviest, and Ultra 7 being the lightest.

When I was shopping for my 3rd .30 cal suppressor this spring, I was most interested in cans that use the common 1.375"x24 mount end threading like the Omega, Vox S and Nomad, due to the multitude of mounting options available from different manufacturers. If you get a can with that mount thread you can use direct thread mounts from a few different manufacturers, along with QD and brake mounts like the Griffin Plan-A, Q Plan-B, YHM Omega adapter, Dead Air Key-mo, and Area 419 Hellfire brake mount. Tons of options, and probably more coming out, you'll never be stuck with a bum or discontinued mounting system down the road.

I wound up getting a Dead Air Nomad, but it was basically a toss up between the Nomad and the Vox S, I just found a steal of a deal on the Nomad first.

You might find the Suppressor Showdown suppressor test video series from Suppressed Nation interesting as they did 6 videos (the other 2 were 17 hmr and K-can videos) with back to back metering of some of these cans:

The Discrete Ballistics metering day conducted with cans from a bunch of different manufacturers might also be worth a look.

Any can that can handle fill size rifle like 300 Win Mag is going to be grossly oversized and heavy for rimfire, and probably for pistol use as well, especially if it is true handgun use and not pistol caliber carbines.

My biggest mistake was not putting a higher criteria on weight when I bought my first silencer.

A heavy can on the end of a 16" + rifle is very noticeable.

For 5.56 to 300 Win Mag use I would take a hard look at the silencerco Omega.

I would get a dedicated pistol can and MAYBE consider using it for double duty with rimfire.

Something like the AAC TiRant 9M would be a good choice for 9mm and rimfire.
