Surplus rifles

I have an M-44 that I would trade for a new Ruger American in 30-06 face to face. I have only shot it a few times after I bought it from a retailer 20 years ago. It has the bayonet. Otherwise it can stay in my safe as a novelty.

I have seen, and fired 7,7 Jap ammo from PRVI. They must do a limited run from time to time. This was about 8 years ago, so may not be present anymore.

I want to say I have a box of Hornady........I am sure it is now that I think about it. Took a photo of it to try to make a point that using the term Jap was not derogatory.....it was just being short.....I can use 'merican, Brit, I-tie (Italy) and no one has a cow....but JAP.....the world ended and I got a strike on said BBS.

The photo did not help.

I have not bought new in a while....again I really think it you want to enjoy this old "goofy" stuff you really need to roll your own.

They do runs from time to time...as well as the folk that make brass.....bought 200 6.5 carcano norma cases several years ago....you just got to keep your eyes open.

Hornady did a special run of ammo for military surplus rifles a few years ago which I believe included 7.7 Japanese but I could be mistaken. I suspect that the brass came from Prvi. Grafs and Sons has also had some private label ammo for milsurps, and Grafs is currently carrying both Norma and Prvi 7.7 Japanese brass. https://www.grafs.com/retail/catalog/category/categoryId/775?

Loaded ammo from grafs in 7.7 Japanese, https://www.grafs.com/retail/catalog/category/categoryId/239?

Norma also has made 6.5 Japanese brass but at one time, there was a serious problem with the brass being non-spec. Don't remember the details. Midway carried their loaded ammo https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1001722848?pid=162254 and Prvi/Norma brass for it

They also carry both Norma and Prvi brass for the 7.7.

Aim Surplus and Sportsmans Guide are other websites that handle quite a bit of Prvi stuff for old milsurps.

indy1919a4: "...Gunbroker has made finding a gun almost doable in your pajamas". So true!

I was almost in my "pajamas" late one night when ordering a new Walther P99 AS via "Buy Now".
The Czechpoint VZ-58 (new in box), three weeks later was also ordered with this method, thanks to having already sold two-three guns (via Armslist) which were barely ever used any more.

If truth be told, and I know this to be true, one can purchase guns in less then Pajamas via gunbroker.. I mean real call the cops - type morals charges if you tried this state of dress in person :)

Indy1919a4: we should order an Internet gun while wearing the type of leopard skin worn by the Swahili tribe or Fred Flintstone——-in style.

I like it, an untapped market.. Manly bid Fashion... Heck it did not hurt Charlton Heston any,, I do recall, He got a horse, The woman, a weeks supply of food, a cool rifle and 50 rounds of ammo.. and not only did he fight off a planet full of hostile monkeys, but came back to earth and become President of the NRA..

PPU make 7.7 Arisaka Brass - so I assume somewhere along the line, they run a batch of loaded cartridges ... Prolly sell out before they get to export to USA ...

I don't know what other country would use it big? Very little shooting in Japan, I can't imagine there are too many Arisaka's in Europe. I'm thinking US bring backs might have created the largest stockpile of them here.

Of course, I could be wrong. Shockingly, its happened before. lol
