svt 40 / avt 40 ?

I recently bought a svt stock because the one with the rifle had been altered. (The guy that did it called it "custom"..right!) Anyway, when I received the stock I found that it was a avt stock. The avt stock is thicker. Does ANYONE know if the svt buttplate will fir the avt stock?? AND/OR, does anyone know where I can get one if it IS different!

The AVT-40 is a little bit thicker in most dimensions, because they wanted a little bit more weight to help control the rifle (a lightweight full-auto 7.62x54R isn't any more controllable than a lightweight full-auto 7.62x51), but most of the add-on parts can be swapped across. I would be very surprised if the Russians thought it was worthwhile to produce a separate buttplate for the two versions of the rifle.
