Found a guy with a couple SVT-40s for sale, right now asking $700 each but seems willing to negotiate. They seem to be in decent shape though the numbers are definitely not matching. It sounds like nice matching examples of the SVT-40 is going for serious money these days but I dunno much a mixed example might be worth. Seems like it could be a lot more fun way to blast through 7.62x54R

I've been looking on and off for a while myself. 700-900 seems to be the going rate from what I've seen, for non numbers matching. Price difference seems to mainly be driven by the condition of the wood.

I've never seen a matching SVT-40, no idea what that would bring. Don't think I want one anyway.

I've seen numerous matching SVT's (both force-matched and otherwise). If either of these SVT's have the Finnish SA box, it is a great price. If not, it is a good price, slightly better than market value.

Check if the arsenal stamp, behind the rear sight, is an arrow in an oval. Also look for a [SA] stamp. If the rifle has either, or both, buy it. Otherwise, use your judgement, it's about market value.
