I'm currently looking at these two pistols and am having a hard time deciding. It might be because they're so darned similar.

I handled both today and prefer the feel of the S&W. I've had three Glocks over the years, and still have my .45 ACP 21-C. It looks like the S&W (Walther) adds some complexity with the trigger mechanism. The S&W I handled today apparently had the "QA" type trigger, as there was no decocker. I would prefer the decocker (assuming, of course, it can be recocked; how does that work?), but I believe that's only available on the older SW99s and the Walther P99C variants, which I can't find as readily.

I'm thinking that Glock parts might be easier to find and cheaper, simply because they're more popular. With the mag extension the 27 would probably fit me as well as the SW990L. And I'm also familiar with the mechanism.

Has anyone done a size comparison with a G27 with the mag extension vs. the G23 (compact) Glock? I found my G36 with extension was every bit as tall as my G17 full size. If that's the case I might start looking at the 23/P99/full size S&W. Carry mode would be IWB or OWB; I find having 1.5lbs of steel and plastic in my pocket to be too much...
