I'm thinking about upgrading to a Swift scope (in the 4-20 range) for my 308 this summer from a Simmons 3-9. I took a look at one at my local gun shop and liked what I saw initially and am wondering what people think of these scopes that have used them on their rifles.

Thanks!

I have two Swift scopes. A 6-18X and a 1.5-4.5X. They're not on par with Leupies, but they work fine. No problems with mine so far. And I think they come with a lifetime warranty.

I liked my first Swift 6-18X44 enough to

buy another one (this time the Premier model). Here are my Swifts on a couple of fine .22s:

Anschutz 1710 and CZ 452 American

Here is a 25 yard 250 on a USBR target from the Anschutz/Swift:

And, a 25 yard 249 from the CZ/Swift (have shot 250s with it also - but no pics - sorry):

I had a Swift Premiere 6-24x50 with the Target knobs on my Savage 10FP in .308 and it worked great. I only got rid of it because I wanted to get a scope with Mil-dots. But the optics were sharp and clear and it held its zero just fine.

The Swift on my muzzle loader gets the job done, but when you factor in the difference in eye relief, light gathering ability, and image clarity, it's clear why the VX-II on my rifle cost more than twice as much.

a lot of dudes over at Rimfirecentral swear by them, and some of them boys can be very uptight about their scopes. So i would have no probs buying one.

I've been trying to kill this one for several years.

Even with 405gr/2150fps handloads, the Swift 1.5-4.5x scope on my Ruger #1S in .45-70 has held up just fine. Myself, I've developed something of a flinch... ;)
