I've just been bit by the T/C bug. I've got an Encore, and I'd really like it if I could put AR-15 pistol grips and buttstocks on it. Does anyone know if such a conversion kit exists?

If not, I've downloaded AR-15 blueprints and assume that I could either machine my own (which would probably be a pretty intense process), or purchase a stripped lower that would then be sacrificed to make the conversion.

Anyone have any experience or advice?

I guess I don't understand the purpose of the conversion. Why put a pistol grip and (I assume) collapseable buttstock on a single shot rifle? I think you are in the realm of making your own conversion. Good luck.

You sir have just invented the UGLIEST firearm in history.

I hope you're happy! The mere thought of such a crossbreed made me throw up in my mouth a little

i don't know what to say. that's the wackiest thing I've heard here in a long time.

I would assume that, rather than mock the OP with thought about the looks of his idea, he would much prefer actual insight or facts.

I've never heard of such a conversion. The thing for the Handi-Rifle's as near as I can think.

Though, I'm curious--

To me, the interchangeability of Barrels is the thing to Encores, and in my head, mounting the barrel to an AR15 lower would seem to negate the firearm's purpose. I could just be missing something, though--what, exactly, are you referring to in the above quote?

I do apologize for the bleeding eye sockets and gastrointestinal difficulties that I appear to have caused.

Several different shooters will be using this gun, and it will be put to several different uses. I find the ability of the AR-style to stock to adjust to a wide range of shooters a great benefit. The Magpul PRS and CAA "Sniper Stock" are of particular interest to me. Also, my two other long guns both have AR-style stocks, and I would personally appreciate commonality amongst them.

While I can appreciate a pretty gun, I really don't care if this one looks ugly.

no harm done... just pretty amusing what people think up :)

Bergeron,
Oddly I was looking for the same thing! I would like to get an ar-15 "trainer" for a lot of inexperienced shooters to practice on before graduating to semi auto. The T/C seems like a good platform (i too have been hit by the t/c bug!), but finding a stock and finding a way to mount ar-15 sights has proven to be difficult.
With a thumbhole stock and a peeprib peep sight it doesn't doesn't do half bad as a trainer though...

Yeah, my Encore's got the 12 gauge barrel and the .22lr barrel. I live pretty close to Clark Custom Guns, and I was planning on heading over there next month to get a J.P. trigger in my AR and getting a quote on this stock conversion idea. If they don't want to do it, or it's too expensive, I do have access to some lathes and mills, and I'll try it myself.
