Yesterday, July 15, I was wringing out a fairly new CZ 457 MTR rifle I received to see what .22

rimfire ammunition it liked and which it didn't care much for. This shooting was all done off my bench at my target stand 45 yards distant. The ammunition involved is RWS R100 after "seasoning" the barrel with a coating of that rounds bullet lubricant:

I'm really liking this rifle:

And for those who were not aware of, the chamber is "match-grade" and bullets are slightly engraved as the bolt is turned down during the chambering sequence:

If I were to recommend a currently available .22 Long Rifle chambered rifle, and if you would be willing to accept a recommendation, I would suggest that anyone should at least look into the CZ 457 MTR.
This rifle cost hundred's of dollars LESS than the lowest priced Anschutz, and from my limited testing, so far, will certainly give the Anschutz a run accuracy wise. I haven't even begun to test some of the more renowned "accuracy .22 ammunition", but I do have some of those set away for the above rifle:

And, I'll certainly see how well rounds like CCI Standard velocity perform from this rifle. I do own a couple of other CZ .22 rimfires, but the CZ 457 MTR outclasses those two quite a bit accuracy wise.

The 5-round group on the left was shot at 35 meters using SK Match ammunition. The 5-round group on the right was shot with Eley yellow box at the same distance:

I could hardly believe it myself. I could see the group forming through my scope as I was shooting, and I sorta expected round number 4 or 5 to spoil things. Now, if I can only do that again!

WOW!! That MTR shooting SK ammo are a match winning combo for sure!

The rifle looks amazing, what rings and scope are you using?

Stay safe.

The rings are Weaver "Quad" 1" that have been lapped. The scope is a Mueller 6x-24 power. I have three of these Mueller scopes on .22 rimfire rifles, mainly because they offer, and respond very well to their 1/8th per click adjustment, and are reasonably priced.
I have been amazed with this rifle and how it shoots, and so far it's doing so right from the box. I have not done anything with the trigger or stock bedding. At this point I've just been shooting various .22 rimfire ammunition to see what it likes, or doesn't like.
