Pardner Pump 12ga

Five 00 buck with five 1oz slugs for backup.

RevolvingGarbage..

I'm lookin for a heat sheild for my Pardner. What kind is it? Also will it get in the way of Ghost rings? In other words does it cover the per-drilled holes? Thanks
To answer your first question, the heat shield is the cheaper version made by ATI, specifically the model designed for use with the 870. As for compatibility with the ghost ring sights, I don't have them or the provisions for mounting them on my gun, but i would imagine as long as the rear sight mounts to the receiver and the front sight sits near the end of the barrel, I think you could make the heat shield fit fairly easily.

RevolvingGarbage,
Did your 870 intially look like this Police Issue? Sorry tried to post pics of my stock 870 side by side, my pic didn't attach????????

Sorry if there was some confusion, the shotgun I have is a H&R Pardner Pump 12 gauge. Its made in china by Hawk Ind. and imported by H&R. Its design is a clone of the Remington 870, with the main differences being the squared receiver and longer magazine tube.

I had the same model Pardner. Used the PG front and rear from an 870 with no problem as well as a scope mount that mounts to the side of the receiver using the pins. The only parts I wouldn't consider interchangeable are the internals. Don't know for sure, but why find out?

Here is mine... Not finished yet but close... I got so many projects going on right now, relaoding area, Ruger 10/22 build, this Winchester and a few more!

My Mossbergs...

Even though I'm 6'1" with proportionately long arms, sometimes when shouldering my 18.5" 500 or my 20" 590, the end of the rubber butt pad would catch on the fabric of my shirt or coat at the chest or shoulder. I had to make a conscious effort to keep the gun out and away from my body during shouldering. That bugged me! Plus, I never liked the feel (nor the look) of hollow plastic butt stocks.

I did a little research and determined that the Mossberg Bantam 12 ga. wood butt stock would fit both the 500 and 590, so I went for it! This changes the length of pull from 14.25" to 12.75". It may not seem like much, but that 1.5" difference makes a WORLD of difference. And the feel of the solid hardwood is infinitely nicer than the hollow plastic.

These guns feel really solid now and shoulder up super quick! I'm finding I even like the "combo" look. I loved these guns before, but this changes everything... they're really awesome now. Just wanted to share my enthusiasm. As you can tell... I like my shotguns clean and simple. The simpler the better as far as I'm concerned. That's why I removed the heat shield from the 590. I did install steel Vang safety buttons, however. Here they are:

I have an MD Arms 20 round drum for the Saiga, now. I got two other 'assault' style scatterguns, too, but this uploader will only let me put two attachments on... I'm lazy with technology, haha.

This one is my "traveling" shotgun.

Here is the size reference:

ThreeShotguns.jpg

Take-down is 2.2 seconds. Push the button in the forearm and it's off,
push the action lever and the barrel is off.

CoachGunTakenDown.jpg

Now the longest piece is 20" which packs up so nice and handy in this little tripod carrying case.

Off I go.

Carrying it in this case raises no second glances whatsoever... verrrrrry discreet.

Get to your motel room and it puts back together just as fast as take-down.

To me, this is old-school tactical. No pumping. No semi-auto jams. Just pull two triggers, that's it.

Over the last 100+ years 12 ga. doubles have ended countless bad situations.

Two rounds of 00 Buck from this is likely to bring any aggressions to a rapid halt
with no need to transition to a pistol.

When on the road, I like having the shotgun AND a pistol vs. having only a pistol.

speaksoftly... glad you like it! You want the Stoeger Coach Gun Supreme (Supremes comes with the recoil pad which is very nice to have!) with two triggers (the single trigger models are prone to problems - don't trust them). Expect to spend around $400 for a Supreme. All nickel model somewhat more.

No... I don't work for Stoeger and won't get a penny from them if you buy one. I just think they're the coolest scatter guns with two triggers and enjoy telling people about them! ;)

Thanks for the info. A friend of mine bought a coach gun recently and we made a heck of a facebook video when I decided I wanted to fire both barrels simultaneously with 3.5 inch slugs. I had a bruise for a week and bragging rights for even longer! ;-)

Oh man! I won't go beyond 2 3/4"ers myself... and one barrel at a time! You guys like brutal! :uhoh: Yeow!

Did he have a recoil pad on his? That's a must in my view.

Got a pair of 'em to turn to... both 12 ga 3"

A Winchester 1200 Police with a Knoxx SpecOps stock

And my Interarms/Rossi SxS coach gun. You'd have to understand the history of the passed two Governor races in WA State to understand why I call the Rossi my "Governator". :D
