Hello,
I have the opportunity to buy a Masterpiece in 9mm with 11 sten mags for 475$. Also comes with a speed loader, condition is good. It looks like the safety is green in color, and has a picatinny rail( even though the bolt knob is on the top of the receiver) Is this a special model? Could I resell for profit, when at a latter point a new panic starts?

Thanks,
Possum

Masterpiece

I've only fired one, in the 5.7 caliber with an Eotec on the rail. However, in shooting sessions with my friend (it's his) we've fired it probably approaching 2k rounds. I can tell you that his is pretty much unbelievably good. Runs perfect, is incredibly accurate (about 1" at 25 yards) and has a great trigger. The Masterpiece is not a Mac10 or a Cobray jam-o-matic. Honestly, I think his Masterpiece is a $1500 pistol (maybe more!!) sold for $500-$600. It's that good.
The 5.7 is somewhat different than the 9mm. The 5.7 has a picatinney rail and the cocking knob is on the left side. Amazing amount of firepower with 30 round mags.

I've owned a Cobray M11-9 for 24 yrs.Its accurate and doesn't jam. However its a big clunky pistol with a weird rocking motion when fired. You would be better off with a Glock 17L,Same barrel length and better 33 rd hi cap mags.A lot more concealable too.

I have the side cocking "mini" model. With a red dot on the rail its a good, fun shooter, the iron sights are pretty bad. Mine has been perfectly reliable, even with 147gr Silver Bear JHP & hard cast lead bullet reloads

Those Sten mags are a bear to load, try to get the surplus "spoon" loading tool, the "pushdown and insert the round" kind are better than nothing though.

I have a Cobray/SWD M-11/9 and I don't really see the point of a semi-auto variant. the ergos are horrible for a semi-auto handgun. You can't put a stock on it or a forward grip unless you SBR it... right?

It's your money. I'd rather have a Beretta or M&P or SIG or XDM or CZ or....

I put a lot of rounds through my dad's REAL Mac 10. In my humble opinion, they're coarsely-made, heavy, poorly-designed clunkers.

I'd be willing to be a lot of $$$ that nobody currently in this thread can shoot a 1" group with ANY Mac-style firearm @ 25 yds. Any takers?

NOTE: Just did a Google for "Masterpiece Mac 11" and the Youtube piece that popped up first was made by a guy who's totally f.o.s.

hentown

hentown, I do not know what a Mac10 will group at 25 yards. I do know what one Masterpiece Arms in the 5.7 caliber is capable of at 25 yards. I have fired more than one group that I "eyeballed" at an inch or so. The groups consisted of several rounds. This particular Masterpiece will shoot rings around a $1500 FN plastic pistol in 5.7 caliber. Thats why I said the Masterpiece MAY be a $1500 arm. With the Eotec it really was not that hard to shoot quite accurately either. My friend had the FN space looking rifle (PS90??) in 5.7 and the FN plastic pistol along with several thousand rounds of ammo. He sold the rifle and pistol but kept the ammo. He then purchased the Masterpiece 5.7 to use the ammo.

I am computer challenged my son always posted pictures for me and he's left the nest. Send me your cell phone number via private message here on this board. And I'll send you a target picture of a 5 round group fired at my local indoor range at 25 yards. I'll telephone my friend immediately and try to arrange a shooting session fairly quickly. I'm not trying to start a verbal war on the board with you. I will try to show you what the Masterpiece will do and you can do with the pictures what you wish. I may be wrong but I think my estimation of group size was fairly close.
