Search engin on this site doesnt seem to work for mr so I had to ask.

I just bough a NIB 9 carbine. it's been a good shooter so I may as well get an pistol to go with and the price is right.

Will be used for plinking I guess and probably be kept in my truck.

Price seems right.
 
From what I hear, they're reliable. I just can't help but to laugh when I look at one though. They are the ugliest pistols on earth. If they work, so be it, but I'd rather buy a used gun...

the mag realeas on one other one would not release the mag any more after 100 rounds.:(

I got dog'ed out in the other thread for what I said but I stand by it any way. Hipoint is junk 1 out of six guns worked they were all mine I kept taking them back for returns and kept getting another about to brake gun back did you see this 1 out of 6 worked:cuss:

I therefore can not recomend one nor will ever own another infact the one I had got turned in on a police gun buy for a $50 walmart card money better spent. :fire:
Junk junk and junk you get what you pay for here I hate them and the folks that came up with them.:cuss:

And for people that dont have money(in relation to the other thread) neither did I at the time so I saved for 8 months to get a quality 1911 see this againI saved for 8 months thats how you afford a gun.......rant off....sorry
 
Truth is Hi-Point is heavy, big, inexpensive, firearm - that works and works well.

I have the 9mm carbine with the ATI stock for a few years now. It has well over 6000 rounds through it and has never jammed, or malfunctioned once. It is my cheapest firearm, but it's also one of the most fun to shoot. In fact, its the only gun my wife or daughter like to shoot when they go with me. They don't like the massive recoil of my M1 or 1903A3, and don't like the pop gun feeling of my Browning .22 rifle. They also don't care for my XDs or M&P pistols. Occasionally they will shoot my Hi-Standard .22 target pistol, but even that is not as much fun as the cheapie Hi-Point carbine to them.


Is Hi-Point an Investment firearm? No

Is Hi-Point an family heirloom you pass down like your grandfathers Winchester? No

Is Hi-Point a reliable American made firearm with excellent customer service and a LIFETIME warranty? Yes


Luckily I can afford higher priced firearms, but still enjoy my Hi-Point and would buy another one.

Erice did admit in another thread that this experience was 10years ago. Hi-Point has change allot in that time. Back then Hi-Point was pretty junky, but not so today.

FYI:
If anyone does have problems; it would be best to send it back to the factory yourself. They will send it back with a couple free mags to help compensate you for your shipping. Many times you can just call and they will send you parts for free if thats how you would rather do it.
 
I agree there are a few post from the other thread kinda funny

And improved or not after that experience I refuse to go back. Besides I make way more money than minimum wage these days so I can get some thing else some thing better
 
I have a Hi point .45acp. I've shot 2000+ rounds through it. I had 1 failure to eject, and that was within the first 200 rounds. I've had no problems since then and I've owned mine for 2 years. I will buy more.
 
Good Gun

I've put hundreds of rounds through mine with no .. repeat .. NO failures of any sort. Great plinking gun, marginal (at best) carry gun, though. Accuracy was great, although, the slide lock notch did tend to catch my wife's skin between thumb & index finger. Didnt bother me at all though.
 
Their website (http://www.hi-pointfirearms.com/) has certainly improved, over the way it looked a year or two ago.

I'd like one of those 995 carbines, with an ATI stock and a red-dot scope :)

Modulo that ATI stock, I'll concede that Hi-Points are ugly (every last one), but they're ugly in a way that once in a while I squint at and think "Y'know, they look kind of cool, sorta, from an angle, for a split second ..."

If anyone dislikes their Hi-Point, and it causes them stress to realize it's in the safe, I will gladly pay $20 each plus shipping, shipped to an appropriate FFL ;) Lots of people say tney're not even worth throwing into volcanoes, that they wouldn't give one to a friend unless the friend had listed them on his life insurance policy, etc, but I don't see them being sold off all that much!

Think I'll go ahead and get a 9. I mean what could it hurt. For the price it's cheaper than a trip to Six Flags and will provide more and longer entertainment right:)

I'm not defending Hi Points (they're not my cup of tea) but I don't see how this has to do with anything.

Cho used a Glock 19 and Walther P22. Should we not buy those guns now too? :scrutiny:
 
I have a C9 and have been happy with it. It's not a carry gun, it's not pretty, it's heavy, and it's REALLY ugly, but it always goes boom.
 
Just saw the 9mm carbine at a gun show last week and wanted it. But not being an impulse buyer I decided to wait a few weeks till next gun show nearby, and get it then. Anxiously waiting. Related question, what does a compensator do?

On a Hi-Point? Nothing, as its a non-functional compensator. It only adds an accessory rail to mount a laser, light, etc.

A functional compensator is supposed to redirect some the the gases to reduce muzzle flip.
 
If you are trying to hit a target with a Hi Point you must be throwing it. They are garbage.

My friend had one. The mag tried to fall out on every shot. If you held the mag in place with your hand, it would jam.

Save your money.

Grow up. Guns are tools. I wouldn't care if Hitler himself used my personal BHP, I'm hanging on to it.

They're ugly, they're clunky, they work.

If I had under 200 bucks to spend and wanted/needed another gun, I'd look at Hi-Points.

And? Some drunk used a Chevy to kill a family of five on the road. Do we plan to boycott Chevy now?
 
I don't own any Hi-Points (yet!) but have shot most of their models of both handgun and carbine.

Oddest feeling one to me was the .380 with the compensator.

When Hi-Point finally starts selling their .45 Carbine...yeah, I'll own a Hi-Point.
 
My HP's, I've had the ocassional FTF, but nothing bad and it might be from the LuLa loader I use.

HP's are the best gun for the price range and might have the best warranty of any gun.
