hello:)
my mother has a taurus 605 in 357 mag. her hands are not as good as they used to be and she is having trouble holding on to the small grips. i was wondering if anybody has seen some target type wood or hard rubber grips that would increase the size of the handle?

any info is appreciated.

Pachmayr or Hogue. Mind you, if mom's hands are arthritic, changing the grips won't help much. Has her revolver had a trigger job? Doing one and changing the grips might help, but it may be time to change firearms altogether. It's has to be her choice and decision though.

We just did this with my Mother in Law, who has a bad case of arthritis in her hands. We tried J frames ( M60 and M640-1), a S&W 908, a 2" K frame, a Browning Buckmark, a Hi Power with thin micarta grips, and a Colt Detective Special. We tried stock grips, Pachy Compacs, Uncle Mikes boot and combat grips, Fitz J frame, and Fitz Colt grips.

She finally settled on the Colt Detective Special, a set of Fitz DS grips on it, standard pressure 124 gr .38 ammo, and she has to shoot single action. Nothing else really worked for her. i don't know what we will do when her arthritis gets too bad.

Here is a pic of the little Colt and grips; I don't know if Fitz has any left - you might email him if interested. His J frame grips are very. very good too.
