Yesterday I took my 6yr old son and 4yr old daughter to the front yard (we live out in the country) and let them shoot for the first time.
We sat at about 35yds with my 1953 JC Higgins model 31 . The gun is a little to big for them so I had to hold the back and just talked then through breathing, sight picture and trigger pull. Anyways...

They definitely were but I has to leave work early and go fix my sisters truck. She was visiting for the weekend over the weekend and was leaving Branson today and a forth smashed into her passenger side breaking her tie rod and demolishing the side of the truck. Good thing for her I'm a mechanic so I just got done fixing it so she can drive back to Chicago.

Good on you. These will be lasting memories for these tykes. It's fun and rewarding for you too.

I always got a kick (as did they), taking my kids out to the country to shoot on a friends farm. Lot more fun shooting outdoors on a warm sunny day.

Good to see the younger generation enjoying shooting. Brings back memories. May want to secure some eye protection for them in the future just to be safe.

I used to take my 2 girls out to the desert on overnight trips when they were pretty young. We would drive around looking for old mines or houses or just walk some trails. The last thing we would do is break out the .22's. They would shoot up cans for about an hour until they got tired and we would start back for home. We still talk about those days at family gatherings. Love the memories.
