Does anyone know if Taurus is planning to offer a compact version of their 1911s? I like their 1911 full size models, and would like to buy a "commander" if they plan to offer them.

Not from what I read and heard today at Gun rights radio network. They were asked that question. and the answer was "not at this time.", I was looking for one myself

I asked the Taurus rep that question a couple years back and received no positive response. I am another candidate for the purchase of a less than full size 1911 with the features and price of the Taurus gun . It does not appear they will make this one.

Ill bet they will come out with a compact before the 9mm fullsize ever hits shelves. They have been advertising that for 2 years now.

Taurus had a Commander sized weapon in their catalog Prior to the PT 1911 ever making it to the dealers shelves but it soon disappeared and was not listed in the next years catalog .

Shame too because I bought a Charles Daly Midsized gun around the same time "Has a 4 inch barrel rather than a 4.25 inch" had they had their Commander clone on the market they would have gotten my business .
