I've read the good, bad and ugly on Taurus (plus I have had two brand new S&W's that had significant problems right out of their respective boxes). I bought a new Taurus 608 with 6 1/2 inch barrel. Very nice action, shoots well using DA. I started off with 38 special +p rounds and didn't quite make it through two dozen rounds when the cylinder locked up. The cylinder wasn't hot, there was really no carbon buildup, the cylinder release wasn't out of position. I did notice a very slight lateral wiggle with the hammer - which I don't see with any of my Smiths. Wondering if there is anything to that and that transfer bar Taurus uses. When it locks, I can release the cylinder, unload it, get things moving again, reload, start shooting and....lockup. I know Taurus provokes a number of interesting responses in the community...looking forward to any constructive feedback out there - Thanks
