I can't find much info on this revolver. Bud's website claims it shoots 6-shot and is the same size as a J frame. How did Taurus cramp 6-shot into a J frame?

If Bud is right, then this is what I've been looking for. I need a J frame size revolver with 6-shot for IDPA. My hand is too small on K frame, and I tried all sorts of grips. My finger is just too short.

If you're looking for a 6 shot J frame size revolver take a look at the Charter Arms Police Undercover. It's a very good revolver. I know because I bought one for my son who wanted a small 6 shooter, not a 5 shooter.

Taurus has 3 M856 revolvers, 2 are +P rated and the other isn't and yes, all 3 will carry 6 rounds.

But are the 856's really the same size as J frames? My concern is the trigger reach of the double action pull.

Yes, I know about the CA Police Undercover. Just like the 856s, there is very little info on the web about the P. Undercover. Local gun shops and gun show don't carry neither revovlers. Does the P. Undercover have short trigger reach like J frames?

weregunner,
Yhy do all of your posts contain links to the Taurus forum instead of your comments? Why do you want to send us there instead of you joining the discussion here? I really don't want to go to another forum but I do what to know your opinion. It's really not cool always sending readers on this forum to another forum, IMO of course...

I'm not sending anyone to the forum just because.

The idea is to provide actual facts, data, and experience from the actual users and owners of said brand, make,or model, no matter where it resides. It matters not what the brand is. I go where the information can be had from the actual sources.

Useful information and data from actual owners is being provided. It's what I do in part. If I know where that specific information and data is then I bring it from whatever source is needed. Right from the horse's mouth.

The links are for information or research purposes for anyone. Specific gun can mean specific gun forum.

For Springfield XDs I go to their forum and see what data/info can be found and consider it. I'll bring it forth if need be to where ever there has been a query.

For Ruger products I go to the two Ruger forums as well to see what they have on various Ruger models.

For SIG models I go to their forum/s as well.

That's where the majority of owners and users are in a nice tight group.

I also use links from here and other large gun forums if need be.

These are to give the OP or anyone else, info and data to draw some conclusions as well as to educate.

My opinion is not important as the person getting facts, data, and anything to give someone a good rounded education.

If getting that data, info, or other stuff comes from other sources I do not see why that would be a problem to anyone.

There is no one great source for shooting. Even books and printed material have it's place.

As a matter of fact my actual experience can be found in the links provided regardless of the source. Repeating myself over and over seems to be rediculous so why go and add all that is already said?

Information is asked for. Information is given.
