Taurus 909B, I cant find any info on it.

Hello all, i finally found what looks like the gun i wish to buy. However when i do searches (not only on this forum but all over the internet) i cant find any good information on it at all. I know all the specification are on the taurus site, but im mainly looking for reviews. I dont even know what its a copy of...S&W 9series maybe?

Ahhh, i think i see it now...

I was thinking the grip section, rail and safteys look like baretta, but the rest did not follow at all. It seems to have the grip of the regular 92FS (not the vertec) but the acc. rail of the vertec, and they trimmed off the nose, and squared up the top.

Overall i think they morphed it into a damn attractive gun.

Here is a quick chop i did of what im talking about. I took the 92fs lower, added the vertec top/rail, and cut off the top/nose to make it square. Let me know what you think...

Actually the Beretta influence isnt what you think. The grip is PT945 all of the way. Its a slimmer grip than the Beretta/Taurus guns with a rail, alloy frame and steel slide.
Should be a nice carry gun...............Shoot well.

It looks a lot like my Beretta Cougar. Maybe shorter but the grip profile looks Beretta.

Haven't seen the 909 yet but the 945 is nice.

Tell you the truth, I think it would make a great platform for a 10MM.

PCRCCW - Are you sure about that? Here are the specs on the beretta copy, the 909 and 945.

PT92B (Beretta 92FS Copy)

Length: 8-1/2''

PT909:

Length: 7-1/4''

PT945 :

Length: 7-1/2''
Width: 1.390"
Height: 5.634"

And if you look at the two next to each other, you can see the pt45 has a slightly different grip than the pt909.

I could be wrong but it looks like Taurus took the grip from their PT92 and placed it on the PT911. I like the idea as I love the idea of the 911 but didnt like the grip and lack of mags/grips.

The pt911 is actually a little different. I think they are trying to use the grip of the 92fs vertec, which has the smaller, slimmer grip. Its more straight and doesnt have the curve on the backside of it.
